For all you coffee and tea lovers out Moonbean is a place you must visit. Neatly tucked away in the heart of Kensington market, it offers an exceptional variety of coffee, tea and freshly baked goods. When walking into the store the first thing you see is a huge selection of teas, probably one of the biggest you have ever seen. Don’t be fooled however by the narrowness of the interior, there are plenty of seating arrangements to go around.
There is even a small cozy room in the back, a bit more secluded from the rest of the store, for those of you who enjoy your coffee in a quiet environment. If you like a street view while enjoying your drink Moonbean you can have a seat on one of the tables located in the front of the store overlooking St. Andrew Street . The patio in the back of the store is sure to be a delight on a hot summer day while sipping your cold beverage. The warm interior and polite staff create a great environment for a cold winter day as well.
If you are a tea lover you will be pleasantly surprised to find out that you get to choose your own loose teas, put them in a cup, bring them to the counter and sit back while you witness the steeping miracle take place right before your eyes. If you are a coffee lover the great assortment of coffee choices will make you take a while before deciding on what you will have.
It is important to note that Moonebean offers only fair trade coffee thus promoting equal opportunities for disadvantaged coffee producers in developing countries. You can also buy fair trade coffee beans from all over the world whole sale if you like. During my visit there I enjoyed an espresso filled with aroma and flavour.
For an extreme experience order the triple espresso, it will keep you going all day long. Among the freshly baked goods offered you will find an assortment of croissants, muffins and other delights. Surprisingly Moonbean even offers vegan cookies baked in the store, which if I might add are delicious (vegan cookie picture). Overall Moonbean can be a very pleasant coffee experience.
