Admittedly one of the smallest coffee shops I have ever visited Luis coffee shop makes up in character what it lacks in size. Situated in the corner of Baldwin and Augusta in the heart of Kensington market Louis coffee shop has been serving its customers for over 40 now. The clientele is comprised of so-called punks, suits, artists, tourists and everybody in between providing you with a vibrant social experience.
The coffee shop literally overlooks the intersection making it the best place to have coffee in the market while gazing at the passing crowds. What is offered is basic, simple and exquisite. You won’t find fancy names in the menu overhead the register nor will you find stylish seating arrangements, but what you will find is friendly staff and great tasting coffee at extremely reasonable prices (a large regular coffee cost me $1,50). The coffee shop also offers teas, ciders, hot chocolate along with the regular espresso based cappuccinos and lattes.
There is also an outdoor seating arrangement comprised by a few benches in the side of the store if you like to enjoy your beverage on a hot summer day. If all this were not enough the coffee shop is literally the extension of a store that offers an extensive array of coffee, tea, candy and spices all sold in bulk. In total, there are approximately 65 types of beans to choose from with the collection including eco-friendly Rainforest Alliance beans and lots of flavoured options, like raspberry chocolate, banana split, and amaretto almond. Again prices in the store cannot be easily matched. The interior of the store will leave you stunned as most of the products are kept in jars stalked up to the ceiling.
If you find yourself in Kensington market doing your regular shopping or just feel like having a good coffee Louis Coffee Shop is definitely the place you should visit. Please feel free to browse our site for more toronto coffee shop reviews.
